Military Veterans File Lawsuits Against 3M for Defective Earplugs

|

3M defective dual-ended ear plugsHundreds of military veterans are pursuing claims against 3M for allegedly manufacturing and/or selling defective products intended for U.S. Military use. It is anticipated that the number of cases will soon soar to tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands.  Allegations include that servicemembers affected are suffering from symptoms such as hearing loss and tinnitus (ringing in the ears). If you or a loved one is a veteran who is suffering after using 3M earplugs, you do not have to face this alone. At Brett H. Oppenheimer, PLLC, we proudly provide results-driven and aggressive legal counsel on behalf of those who need it most.

Device companies are required to provide adequate warnings regarding their products’ risks and potential malfunctions. They are also required to disclose known defects and, in many circumstances, re-design or re-manufacture devices that are dangerous. The reckless handling of products developed by 3M and/or Aaero Technologies has been tied to allegations of injuries resulting in countless veterans losing their quality of life. Without admitting liability, 3M settled a lawsuit with the Justice Department and paid the government $9.1 million over allegations of fraud.

It has also been alleged that 3M knew that test procedures or results for these earplugs were falsely modified and manipulated.
